Current Context: United States has approved to sale Harpoon air-launched anti-ship missiles and Mark 54 lightweight torpedoes worth $155 million to India. And hence has again proven to be India’s major defense partner and strengthen the defense partnership between the two countries.

  • The Harpoon missile system will be integrated into the P-8I anti-submarine warfare aircraft to carry out anti-surface warfare missions. And thus it will enhance interoperability with the US and other allied forces.
