Current Context: The state government of Karnataka launched a mobile app called “Corona watch”.
- Aim of Corona Watch App: To track the movement history of the patient, who tested positive prior to their detection so that they can take precautions.
- The app is designed in such a way that it will give the data and timing of the visit of the patient to the location they travel.
- The app is comprised with the list of government-designated first response hospitals for COVID-19 where citizens with the symptoms can go.
- Also the Karnataka government has formulated a ten-member task force for COVID-19.
- This task force are making use of IT application and GPS to track individuals who are suspected of COVID-19.
- The quarantined person have been ordered to declare their location every day during the 14 day quarantined period.
