RBI’s Current Notification--Auction of Government of India Dated Securities

Current Context: RBI has released a notification describing auction GOI’s three securities for a amount of Rs 20,000 crore. The total amount retained over and above the notified will not exceed Rs 20,000 crore in first half of FY 2020-21 and will be set-off in second half year.
RBI’s Current Notification--Auction of Government of India Dated Securities
  • The three securities are: 
    1. 6.18% GS 2024
    2. 7.57% GS 2033
    3. New GS 2050 (maturing on Sep 20, 2050) 
  • RBI has mentioned that the stocks will be issued for a minimum amount of ₹ 10,000/- (nominal) and in multiples of ₹ 10,000/- thereafter.
  • In this, Government Stock up to 5% of the notified amount of sale will be allotted to the eligible individuals and institutions under the Scheme for Non-competitive Bidding Facility in the Auctions of Government Securities.
