Current Context: Telangana state has installed a ‘V Safe Tunnel’ which is a unique disinfectant at the state Director General of Police’s office to sanitize people within 20 seconds from any possible bacteria and other microbes.
- The initiative was taken to reduce the local transmission of Coronavirus in the state and to provide maximum protection to people passing through the tunnel in around 20 seconds.
- The disinfectant tunnel was installed with the help of private company called S3V Vascular Technologies Private Limited. It manufactures medical devices for the brain and heart.
- It consists of combination of water soluble polymer and iodine. The solution is highly effective against SARS, MERS and Ebola viruses.
