Current Context: Government of West Bengal has launched 'MatirSmristi' scheme. The scheme is launched to make utilization of 50,000 acres of barren land in 6 districts namely Bankura, Birbhum, Purulia, Jhargram, West Burdwan and West Midnapore of West Bengal.

- The scheme will provide benefit to around 2.5 lakh people in rural Bengal.
