Current Context: The Government of Tripura has announced to launch ‘Mukhyamantri Matru Pushti Uphaar’ Scheme.
- The aim of this scheme is to provide nutritious food and kits to pregnant and lactating women.
- The scheme will help to fight against infant and maternal mortality and malnutrition in the state.
- The scheme will prove beneficial to about 40,000 women of the state.
- The women’s health will be tested four times at Primary Health Centers (PHC) and they will be offered with nutrition kits containing food items and grocery supplies like peanuts, soyabeans, mixed pulses, jaggery and ghee.
