Current Context: NITI Aayog has launched a behaviour change campaign called ‘Navigating the New Normal’.
- In order to develop and launch this campaign, NITI Aayog has partnered with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Ashoka University, Centre for Social and Behavioral Change (CSBC), Ministry of Health, and with Ministry of Women ad Child Development.
- The campaign focuses on safety behaviours to be taken during COVID-19 pandemic situation and to combat it.
- It promotes wearing of masks, using PPE kits, maintain social distancing in order to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
- NITI Aayog has also launched a website for this campaign and provides safety measures to be taken during the unlocking stage of ongoing pandemic.
- The campaign and website were developed under the guidance of empowered group 6, constituted by GOI under the chairmanship of Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog.
- There are two parts of the campaign: (1) A web portal (2) A media campaign.
- The campaign focuses on the easy implementation of key behaviours namely: mask-wearing, social distancing, hand hygiene, and not spitting in public.
