Current Context: Union Minister for Steel & Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan virtually inaugurated Asia’s First Continuous Galvanized Rebar Production Facility in Punjab.
- The Continuous Galvanized Rebar Production Facility in launched by Madhav KRD Group in partnership with International Zinc Association (IZA) in the support of Hindustan Zinc Limited.
- This facility will produce Continuous Galvanized Rebar (CGR) with annual capacity produce to be 30,000 tonnes.
- Advantages of galvanized steel with standard quality of zinc coating will reduce the risk of cracking due to bending.
- And the technology developed will help to minimize damages due to corrosion.
- The development and inauguration is a step forward towards making of an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.
