Current Context: International Centre of Automotive Technology (ICAT) has launched e-portal on automotive technology which is named as ASPIRE.
- The ASPIRE e-portal stands for Automotive Solutions Portal for Industry, Research and Education.
- Along with this, ICAT declared that the Department of Heavy Industry (DHT) which is the body under GOI has released the e-platforms to promote innovation, R&D and product development in various sector of India. And ASPIRE is one of the e-portal among them.
- The ASPIRE portal will provide a platform for Indian Automotive Industries so that they can adapt and innovate new technologies and become self-reliant.
- ASPIRE portal will bring together various stakeholders from associated avenues.
- The portal will collaborate various automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Tier 1,2,3 companies, R&D sectors from academic and institutional areas and will assign them to work together in technology advancement in the country.
