Current Context: Boeing which is a United States defence equipment manufacturing company has completed its delivery of AH-64E Apache and CH-47F(I) Chinook military helicopters to the Indian Air Force (IAF) unit.
- Boeing has delivered its last set of five numbers of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to IAF at Air Force Station, Hindan. Thus, it has completed delivery of all 22 numbers of AH-64E Apache helicopters to India.
- Along with this, Boeing has delivered last five of the 15 numbers of CH-47F(I) Chinook heavy-lift helicopters to IAF.
- Earlier, India has entered with a defence agreement with Boeing to deliver 22 Apache helicopters and 15 Chinook helicopters through the Foreign Military Sales Programme of US government in September 2015. The agreement between the two countries was signed for $3 billion.
