Digital Indo- Italian Business Mission on Food Processing

Current Context: Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harisimrat Kaur Badal virtually addressed the opening ceremony of Digital Indo- Italian Business Mission on Food Processing.

• The event included digital conferences, trade fairs, and Business-to-Business service (B2B) meetings.
• The mission is launched with an aim to provide a platform for Indian and Italian food processing industries.
• The trade fair of this mission showcased the products and services related to the food sector by 23 Italian companies.
• The B2B meeting between India and Italy in this mission included the discussion of food sector areas like Fruits and Vegetables, Cereals, Milk and Dairy Processing, Packaging and Bottling of food items.
• The Union Minister for Food Processing addressed the session by highlighting the vast opportunities in the food sector. She addressed that the food sector can be expanded at a global level through mega food parks, agriculture export zones, food industrial parks etc.
• She also motivated food processing industries to be the part of the digital platform for expansion of food sector globally.
