Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched High Throughput COVID-19 Testing Facilities via video conference.
High Throughput COVID-19 Testing Facilities launched by PM Modi

  • The facilities will boost and ramp up the testing capacities for COVID-19 in India.
  • And will help to enhance early detection and treatment in order to contain the spread of coronavirus at vast scale and to save the lives of people.
  • The facilities are launched at : (A) ICMR-National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research, Noida (B) ICMR-National institute of Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai (C) ICMR-National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Disease, Kolkata.
  • These High Throughput COVID-19 Testing will conduct over test of 10,000 samples per day.
  • They are launched to reduce turn-around time and exposures of lab personnel to infectious clinical materials.
