Current Context: Union Minister for Human Resource Development has virtually released a report titled ‘India Report- Digital Education June 2020.

  • The report is prepared by digital division of HRD ministry by analyzing the data from educational departments of states and UTs in India.
  • The report describes the innovative measured adopted by educational and academic systems in India during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The innovative measures adopted to conduct e-learning during COVID-19 pandemic stare are DIKSHA Program, Swayam Prabha TV Channel, Online MOOC Courses, On Air-Shiksha Vani, DAISY by NIOS for differently- abled , e-pathshala etc.
  • Other ways adopted to conduct online education re Telecasting educational content via TV Channels , an E-learning portal, webinars, chat groups, distribution of books, mobile phones and tablets to the economically weaker section.
