Current Context: PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Asia's Largest Solar Power Project in Madhya Pradesh via video conference. The project is named as Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power Project.
- It is the 750 MW ultra solar power plant which is comprised of 3 solar generating units of 250 MW each.
- The project is developed by Rewa Ultra MegaSolar Limited (RUMSL), which is a joint venture of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (MPUVN) and Solar Energy Corporation of India.
- The projects will help to remove emission to 15 lakh tonne of carbon dioxide every year and will also supply energy to customers outside the state also.
- The project will prove helpful to Delhi Metro which will be getting 24% of energy and 76% of energy will be given to DISCOMs of Madhya Pradesh.
