Current Context: IIT Bombay has developed a free of cost mobile phone application called AIR Scanner.
AIR Scanner—IIT Bombay

  • The AIR Scanner app is developed with an aim to have a replacement for Chinese based scanning apps. 
  • The app is developed by Rohit Kumar Chaudhary and Kavin Agrawal, students from IIT Bombay. 
  • They have developed this app from an inspiration from Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
  • Features of AIR Scanner app: Easy document scanning with the help of mobile phones, the scanned document gets saved as PDF format, the app is highly secure, documents arranging and sharing feature are also available in the app.
  • The App is based on AI technology which allows to read out scanned pages and delivers the meaning of any selected word in 40 languages.
