Current Context: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the ranking list for Atal Rankings of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020.
- As per the rankings, IIT Madras has retained its top position in ARIIA for this year as well. IIT Madras is remarked as the best centrally funded institution in India.
- The rankings were declared on the basis of two broad categories and six subcategories.
- The six subcategories are Centrally funded institutions, Women instructions (only higher education institutes), Private institutions, Private/Deemed Universities, State-funded autonomous institutions and State-funded Universities.
