Current Context: Indian E-commerce brand Flipkart has signed MoU with IIT Patna.
- The MoU is signed to work for industry focused research.
- Under this MoU, industry focused research will be carried out in the field of AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML).
- Flipkart aims to enhance research in the industries in order to reach e-commerce in every sector and to enhance the student's engagement in this upliftment of e-commerce with the help of technology and their skill sets.
- Under this partnership, IIT Patna will perform research, they will publish research papers as well as conduct interactive seminar sessions. The institute will also offer mentorship and internship opportunities to the students.
- These activities by IIT Patna, will leverage the flipkart data and platform knowledge to work on e-commerce and its challenges.
- IIT Patna will develop various AI, NLP and ML solution platforms which will perform the work of collection, analysis and translations of huge amount of user reviews which are written in English or other Indian languages.
