Current Context: Union Minister for road transport and highways launched an app called ‘Harit Path’ app.
- The ‘Harit Path’ app will monitor and track the trees plantation along the national highways.
- The app will keep track record with the help of geotagging and web-based GIS monitoring tools.
- The app is developed by NHAI (National Highways Authority of India).
- The app will not only keep the tracking record of trees along the side of the highway, but will also monitor their growth, it will also display species information of tress, will keep a track record for the maintenance taken for the tress, and also will display the achievements of each of its units and projects.
