Current Context: IIT Alumni Council has signed MoU with Russia’s Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Russoft to build the world’s largest and fastest hybrid quantum computer in India.
IIT Alumni Council signs MoU with Russia to build Quantum Computers

  • Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Russoft are the association of software developing companies, with the help of whom India will access and transfer key technologies to build Quantum Computers in India. 
  • The collaboration will allow the use of advance technology in the sectors of health, transports and logistics, weather forecasting, agriculture. This will help to achieve the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan mission.
  • As per the MoU, state-owned companies of Russia will transfer critical modules in cryogenics, cryptography and modularised cloud management technology to the IIT Alumni Council.
