Current Context: Ministry of Skill Development has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Shipping.

  • The agreement is signed to achieve skill development in the port and maritime sector.
  • Under this agreement, the associated person in the field of the maritime industry and coastal community will be given training to uplift their skills, also to re-skill them. 
  • The partnership between two ministries will also offer employment opportunities in order to increase youth manpower in the maritime and coastal sector.
  • The MoU will provide strength and will boost the commitment of Coastal Community Development which is held under the Sagar Mala Programme of Ministry of Shipping.
