Current Context: A two-day conclave on ‘School Education in 21st Century’ began on 10th Sep 2020 in a virtual mode.
- The conclave was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- The conclave is the part of New Education Policy 2020.
- It was organized by the Ministry of Education as the part of Shiksha Parv 2020 initiative, which is to be celebrated like an education festival from 8th Sep to 25th Sep 2020.
- PM Narendra Modi addressed the conclave speaking about NEP 2020 and assured that NEP 2020 is the proper way to fulfil new aspirations and new hopes of India. He also appreciated the efforts of teachers from India for their contribution to MyGov.
- PM Narendra Modi addressed that Indian Students must-have skills of the 21st century. The skills are Critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication.
- PM Modi announced to set up National Evaluation Centre ‘Parakh’ which will be responsible for overall development in the evaluation system.
- Technical sessions and discussion conducted in the conclave were on the topics: (a) ‘Foundational Literacy and Numeracy’ (b) ‘Art Integrated and Toy integrated Pedagogy’ (c) ‘Early Childhood Care and Education (d) ‘Teaching in Mother Tongue’ (e) ‘No Hard Separation’.
