Current Context: The ‘Destination North East 2020 Festival’ was inaugurated by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah via video conference.

• The theme for ‘Destination North East 2020 Festival’: ‘The Emerging Delightful Destinations’.
• The festival is held from 27th Sep-30th Sep 2020.
• It is launched to introduce various Indian cultures, tourist destinations from North-East parts of India so that the whole country will get the knowledge about the North-East culture and its tourism. 
• The festival promotes and showcases heritage, tourism, culture and business of North east India.
• In this 4 day festival, audio visual presentation describing tourist destinations of NE states is showcased. Also, the handicraft works, local products of each NE state is presented in this festival.
