India offers financial support to Maldives to combat COVID-19

Government of India has extended financial support to the Maldives to combat the impact of COVID-19. India has offered the loan amount of 250 million dollars to the Maldives. 
  • The loan amount is the revenue and budgetary support for tackling COVID-19 impact on the Maldivian economy. 
  • Under this loan agreement, the State Bank of India will subscribe to a Treasury Bond which will be issued by Government of Maldives with a comfortable 10 year tenor of repayment
