- The Ministerial Roundtable Dialogue on Biodiversity 2020 was hosted by the People’s Republic of China.

- Union Minister Prakash Javadekar elaborated India’s role in the conservation of biodiversity by hosting COP (Conference of Parties).
- He also highlighted that India is taking efforts to conserve the tiger population. And it has resulted in double in tiger population from the last decade.
- He mentioned that India’s forest cover is currently at 25%. And India has set the target to restore 26 million hectares of degraded land and to achieve land degradation neutrality by the year 2030.
- He also mentioned India has set up 25 lakh Biodiversity Management Committee which accesses the benefits of the convention on biological diversity.
