AYUSH Ministry signs MoU with Herbal Industry Bodies

Current Context: The National Medicinal Plants Boards (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH has signed agreement with Herbal Industry Bodies. 
AYUSH Ministry signs MoU with Herbal Industry Bodies
  • They have signed an agreement to promote medicinal plant cultivation. 
  • The industry bodies included in this MoU are: ADMA, Mumbai (Ayurvedic Drug Manufacturers Association), AMAM, New Delhi (Association for Manufacturers of Ayurvedic Medicines), AMMOI, Thrissur (Ayurvedic Medicines Manufacturers Organisations of India), AHNMI, Mumbai (Association for Herbal and Nutraceutical Manufacturers of India), FICCI and CII. 
  • Under this MoU, AYUSH ministry will carry out sustainable supply of quality raw materials to AYUSH, Nutraceutical and Herbal industries.
  • The NMPB will provide the buy-back guarantee to the farmers/gatherers on NMPB supported medicinal plan cultivation and collection programs.
