PM Narendra Modi launched ‘Age Appropriate Fitness Protocol’

Current Context: To celebrate and promote the first anniversary of Fit India Movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Age Appropriate Fitness Protocol’ virtually at Fit India Dialogue.

• The Fit India Dialogue was organized to address the first anniversary of Fit India Movement.
• In the Fit India Dialogue, PM Modi interacted with various sportsperson, fitness experts and many more via video conferencing. PM Modi interacted to Virat Kohli (Indian Cricket player), Milind Soman (Model, Actor and Runner), Rujuta Diwekar (Nutritionist) were among them.
• The fitness protocols are defined by fitness enthusiast by following the aim of good health and fitness of people belonging to a different category of age.
• There are three categories of age for which the fitness protocols are defined namely, 5-18 years age category, 18-65 years age category, 65+ years age category.
• At the dialogue, PM Modi laid the mantra of ‘Fitness ka Dose, Adha ghanta Roz’ (Fitness dose, Half an Hour every day). He also urged to practise yoga, play different sports for at least half an hour daily to Indian citizens. 
• Static Part: Fit India Movement: It was launched on the occasion of National Sports Day in 2019 (29 August 2019).
