Current Context: Facebook-owned WhatsApp messaging app has entered into a partnership with Common Service Centers (CSC). 
WhatsApp partnered with Common Services Centers
  • They have entered into the partnership for a WhatsApp chatbot which will work to empower and educate rural people by offering them Digital literacy services and resources at their doorstep.
  • They will work to remove the digital divide gap in the rural economy and will create livelihood by promoting rural entrepreneurship.
  • The WhatsApp chatbot is expected to be beneficial to about 10 million people by August 2021.
  • The CSC and WhatsApp in collaboration will offer cost-effective videos, voice content, data content in the sector of education, health, e-governance, telemedicine and other private services.
