- ‘Rudram-1’ is a new generation anti-radiation missile.
- It was test fired at Wheeler Island off the coast of Odisha and was launched from SU-30 Mk1 fighter aircraft.
- ‘Rudram-1’ is having speed of Mach two or two times the sound speed. It is capable of bringing down wide range of enemy radar system, communication networks and air defence systems within a range of 250 km.
- Rudram is developed by DRDO for Indian Air Force, it is encorporated with INS-GPS navigation system with Passive Homing Head for the final attack. The Passive Homing Head detects, classify and engage the targets over a wide band of frequencies.
- It can hit the radiation target with pin-point accuracy.
