IIT Kharagpur partners with TCS

Current Context: IIT Kharagpur has partnered with TCS to develop novel Industry 4.0 technology.

• Industry 4.0 technology is developed to remotely control factory operations and to have real-time quality corrections in industries.
• This technology is developed to set a new trend in the manufacturing sector of India.
• Industry 4.0 technology will help manufacturing industries to achieve standard quality goals, reduce possibilities of rejection, hence lowering the cost of production.
• The technology is developed by Prof. Surjya K Pal, who is in-charge at the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
• The Industry 4.0 technology will help to acquire real-time data about welding activities via sensors and will allow online controlling of welding quality with the help of cloud-based data transfer with the friction stir welding machine.
