Current Context: An agreement is signed between India Post and US Postal Service. 

• They have entered into an agreement for the purpose of electronic exchange of customs data related to postal shipments between India and the US. 
• This agreement will lead to ease of exports through postal channels between both nations.
• Both entities will transmit and receive electronic data of international postal items being shipped even before their arrival. This advance data will helps the customs to clear the postal items before the shipment reaches the port. 
• This will thus lead to improve the postal service’s reliability, visibility and security.
