Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize 2020

Current Context: The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (SSB) Prize is given every year to mark the outstanding contribution to science and technology.

• It is the science award given by CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) for outstanding work in research, applied or fundamental , in physics, biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering , mathematics and medicine. 
• This year the CSIR announced SSB award to 14 scientists. The awards were announced by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan. He is also Vice President of CSIR.
