Current Context: Government of Delhi has passed Tree Plantation Policy with an aim to preserve tress and focus on tree plantation.
Tree Plantation Policy passed by Delhi Gov.
  • Delhi has become the first state to have a Tree Plantation Policy. 
  • The policy was approved by state cabinet headed by Chief Minister of Delhi.
  • Under this policy, around 80% of trees which were affected due to construction or development activities will be transplanted in Delhi.
  • Also, under this policy, the government will look further in the survival of minimum 80% tress in Delhi.
  • To make this policy work in progress, the Delhi Government will form a panel of agencies which will look after tree plantation activities and survival of tress in the state.
  • The Tree Plantation Policy is the part of ‘Yuddh Pradushan Ke Viruddh’ initiative.
