- Delhi has become the first state to have a Tree Plantation Policy.
- The policy was approved by state cabinet headed by Chief Minister of Delhi.
- Under this policy, around 80% of trees which were affected due to construction or development activities will be transplanted in Delhi.
- Also, under this policy, the government will look further in the survival of minimum 80% tress in Delhi.
- To make this policy work in progress, the Delhi Government will form a panel of agencies which will look after tree plantation activities and survival of tress in the state.
- The Tree Plantation Policy is the part of ‘Yuddh Pradushan Ke Viruddh’ initiative.
