33rd Stop TB Partnership Board Meet

Current Context: The 33rd Stop TB Partnership Board meeting was addressed by Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan via video conference.

• The addressed by highlighting the need to create a mass movement for the elimination of TB with strategized advocacy, thought leadership, disruptive social entrepreneurship, powerful, societal and political commitment. 
• He also commented about ‘TB Harega, Desh Jeetega’ campaign of India.
• The ‘TB Harega, Desh Jeetega’ campaign aims to achieve SDG related to TB by 2025, five years ahead of the global target of 2030. 
• He also mentioned GOI’s efforts on increasing TB notifications and creating its awareness and also explained how India has managed to close the gap in ‘Missing million TB cases’.
