Capacity Building Component of PM-FME & GIS ODOP Digital Map of India

Current Context: The Capacity building Component of the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises scheme (PM-FME) was launched by Union Minister of Food

Processing Industries, Narendra Singh Tomar. 

• He also launched GIS One District One Product (ODOP) Digital Map of India. 
• Capacity building Component of the PM-FME: This component will provide training sessions to food processing entrepreneurs, SHGs, Farmers Producer Organisation (FPOs), Cooperatives and stakeholders who are linked with PM-FME Scheme.
• The training sessions will be given to master trainers in an online mode or by classroom lecture sessions and in the form of demos. Then the master trainers will be responsible to train district-level trainers who will further be training the beneficiaries. The training to the masters will be provided by the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) and Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT). 
• GIS ODOP Digital Map of India: It will provide details of ODOP products and will allow stakeholders to perform value chain development. The digital map will also offer an indication of tribal, SC, ST and aspirational districts.
