Current Context: India and Vietnam held the bilateral defence dialogue in a virtual mode.
Defence Ministers meet of India and Vietnam
  • India was represented by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Vietnam was represented by General Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of National Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. 
  • Both the nations discussed ongoing defence sector projects and they assured to deepen cooperation to have the defence industry capability and capacity building. 
  • They also assured to work collaboratively in UN Peacekeeping Operations. 
  • India assured to build the institutionalized framework agreement in the near future and also assured to offer guidance to provide training for all three services of the Vietnam defence sector in Indian defence institutions. 
  • Both the nations signed an agreement for enhancing cooperation in Hydrography.
