- The MoU is signed under SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) initiative.
- The Compressed Bio-Gas Plants developed under this MoU will allow the generation of biogas from crop waste.
- Under this MoU, around 900 Compressed Bio-Gas Plants will be setup.
- Initially, the GOI signed MoU for setting up of 600 CBG Plants. And currently, 1500 plants are under execution process.
- Also, GOI has set a target to set up around 5000 CBG plants by 2023-34.
- The biogas generated from these CBG plants will be used for automobiles.
- The MoU was signed with the companies like: JBM Group, Adani Gas, Torrent Gas and Petronet LNG, Indian Oil, Praj Industries, CEID Consultants & Bharat Biogas Energy.
