Current Context: India and Finland have entered into MoU in the field of biodiversity conservation and environment protection.
India signs MoU with Finland
  • The MoU agreement was signed by Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar and his counterpart Krista Mikkonen of Finland.
  • Under this MoU, both India and Finland will share best practices and solutions which will help to tackle air and water pollution, waste management, low carbon solutions, sustainable management of natural resources and promotion of circular economy.
  • They will also work to develop technological, scientific and management based capabilities which will conserve the biodiversity and will enhance environmental protection.
  • They will conserve the biodiversity on the basis of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit by promoting sustainable development.
