Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched India’s first-ever seaplane service connecting Statue of Unity in Kevadia with Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
India’s first seaplane service launched by PM Modi
  • It is the 19 seater seaplane and will be managed by SpiceJet airline. 
  • The seaplane service will cover 200km of distance in around 40-45 minutes.
  • There will be four flights a day between Ahmedabad and Kevadia on each side i.e. there will be four arrivals and four departures.
  • The ticket price for per person is Rs 4800. 
  • It is fitted with a twin Otter 300, efficient Twin Turboprop Pratt & Whitney PT6A-27 engines.
