SITMEX-2020

Current Context: The SITMEX-2020 is the trilateral naval exercise conducted by India, Singapore and Thailand.
SITMEX-2020
  • The SITMEX 2020 was held in Andaman sea.
  • The exercise followed a ‘non-contact, at sea only format’ because of the pandemic COVID-19 and to follow the restrictions related to social distancing for same. 
  • The Indian Navy was represented by INS Karmuk and INS Kamorta.
  • The Singapore Navy was represented by RSS Intrepid and RSS Endeavour.
  • The Thailand Navy was represented by a Chao class frigate HTMS Kraburi.
  • The SITMEX 2020 aims to consolidate interoperability between the three navies of India, Singapore and Thailand.
  • The exercise also boost multifaceted Maritime operations between the nations.
