Current Context: The 6th India-Japan ICT Joint Working Group meeting was held virtually.
6th India-Japan ICT Joint Working Group Meet
  • The meeting was held under both nation’s ICT (Information and Communication Technology) objective. 
  • India was represented by K Ramchand from the Department of Telecom and Anshu Prakash from the Ministry of Communication. While Japan side was represented by Yoshida Mabito, Vice Minister, Ministry of Internal affairs and telecommunications.
  • This meet observed the discussion on boosting cooperation in 5G sector.
  • They also held discussions related to wireless planning, and standardization of technology as well as its utilization.
  • Other than these topics, issued related to submarine optical fibre placement, smart-city development programme and Artificial Intelligence use in healthcare were discussed by the dignitaries.
  • They also adopted a partnership project at Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad. This project includes the usage of AI by software to assist doctors in Colonoscopy diagnosis.
