  • He appreciated the forum’s efforts and Japan’s contribution to promoting the ideas and ideals of Lord Buddha, especially among the youth through this conference.
  • While addressing the conference, PM Modi proposed to form a library of all Buddhist literature and scriptures in India.
  • He assured that India will offer all the necessary support to set up this library.
  • The PM stated that the library will be a medium for research & dialogue, a true Samwad between human beings, societies and man and nature.
  • The library will be comprised of digital copies of Buddhist literature from different countries.
  • He also assured that the library will translate the literature and will make free availability of great works of Buddhist literature for all monks and scholars of Buddhism.
  • The conference was held to highlight shared values between both nations and to take forward the ancient tradition of spiritual and scholarly exchanges in both nations.
