Current Context: India successfully conducted the test-firing operation of Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM).
India Successfully Test Fired MRSAM
  • It was test-fired from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Odisha.
  • The MRSAM is jointly developed by DRDO and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). It is manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Ltd.
  • The MRSAM is basically a command control system which tracks missiles, radar and mobile launcher systems.
  • It is developed by using active radar Radio Frequency seeker, bidirectional data link and phased array radar and is powered by the dual-pulse solid propulsion system.
  • It is having a strike range of 100kms and has supersonic Mach 2-speed feature.
