NMDC Ltd Signed MoU with MECL

Current Context: The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) signed MoU with Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd (MECL).

• They entered into MoU to conduct exploration activities in mutually agreed projects of iron ore, gold, coal, diamonds and other minerals. 
• This partnership will help India to become self-reliant in the mineral exploration sector. 
• Both the entities will work in various states to establish resources, reserves for minerals, ores and their extraction.
• They will also work to identify unexplored mining areas and to maintain mineral security as well in India.
