- The scheme is launched with an outlay of Rs 1869 crore.
- The scheme aims to distribute 2.49 lakh sheep and goats to SC, ST women belonging to the age group between 45-60 years in order to improve their standard of living.
- The 2.49 lakh sheep and goat will be distributed in three phases. Each unit is comprised of 15 sheep or goat.
- Under this scheme, in the first phase 20,000 units will be distributed till March 2021. In the second phase, 1.3 lakh units will be distributed from April-Aug 2021 and in the third phase, 99000 units will be distributed from Sep-Dec 2021.
- Also, the state government has signed MoU with Allana Group for the purpose of procurement of sheep and goats.
- The scheme will help to boost the rural economy of the state.
