Current Context: Chief Minister of Goa launched the One-time settlement scheme. 
One-time Settlement Scheme launched in Goa
  • The scheme is basically a welfare scheme from the Electricity Department. 
  • It aims to provide waivers for the pending electricity bill payments. 
  • Under this scheme, the consumer has to only shell out the principal amount and the delayed payment charges will be junked away, with the full or partial waiver of the delay payment charges (DPC), depending upon the time slot selected for payment.
  • The scheme allows power consumers to pay their bills in instalments.
  • The scheme is applicable for consumers whose installations are temporarily disconnected as on 10th Oct 2020 for non-payment of outstanding arrears and for Revenue Recovery cases filed up to 10th Oct 2020.
