- The first prize was awarded to Sreenivas Karanam of Bengaluru for his contribution in developing a cost-effective customized technical solution under the brand ‘C mobile’. This facility will help the fishermen to have voice calls, group calls, SMS, Location services and Emergency services while they are out of GSM coverage area.
- The second prize was awarded to Subrat Kar of New Delhi for his innovative work solution in development and deployment of a large scale sensor network which allows avoiding a train-animal collision. It works without interfering with natural movements and behaviour of animals, and also helps in wildlife conservation. His innovative work is being deployed in Rajaji National Park of Uttarakhand in order to prevent deaths in elephants by train-elephant collision.
