  • This is the 16th edition of the Global Climate Risk Index and is drafted by analyzing the impact of extreme climate conditions on the country and on the economy.
  • The report is drafted by considering data from Munich Re’s NatCatSERVICE.
  • As per the index ranking, India is at 7th position among the countries that are most affected by climate change in 2019.
  • Top 3 most affected countries in 2019 are: Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Bahamas.
  • Top 3 most affected countries in the last 20 years (2000-2019) are: Puerto Rico, Myanmar and Haiti.
