2nd India Justice Report 2020

Current Context: The Tata Trusts in partnership with Centre for Social Justice, Common Cause, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, DAKSH, TISS–Prayas, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy

and How India Lives released the 2nd edition of India Justice Report (IJR).

• As per the report, Maharashtra is at the top position among the 18 large and mid-size states to provide better justice delivery.
• The second and third positions are marked by Tamil Nadu and Telangana respectively.
• Also, in the category of small states, the report ranking is topped by Tripura in providing better justice delivery.
• Tripura is followed by Sikkim and Goa at second and third ranks respectively.
• The report considers justice delivery in the areas of Police, Judiciary, prisons and Legal Aid and thus gives the rank accordingly.
