Current Context: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India has entered into a loan agreement to support the horticulture in Himachal Pradesh.
ADB and GOI Signed Loan Agreement to Finance Horticulture in HP
  • They have signed a $10 million project readiness financing (PRF) agreement for same. 
  • The funds will help to manage the horticulture activities from designing, capacity building in order to increase horticulture production and farm household income in Himachal Pradesh.
  • The funds under the PRF facility will support to undertake advanced solutions which will create an environment for subtropical horticulture development in the state.
  • The fund amount will also be used to perform prior testing of new production technologies and marketing systems in order to have a cost-effective implementation of technology in a timely manner for horticulture development in HP.
