Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme for CAPF

Current Context: The Ministry of Home Affairs launched Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme for the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

• For this purpose, the MoU was signed between the National Health Authority (NHA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs. 
• The scheme is launched for CAPF personnel and their dependents. 
• The scheme will prove beneficial 28 lakh personnel of Assam rifles, CAPF and National Security Guard, and their dependents.
• The scheme will be beneficial to: Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Security Guard (NSG), Assam Rifles and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
• While launching the scheme, Union Minister Amit Shah distributed the ‘Ayushman CAPF’ Health cards to some of the personnel from 7 CAPF.
